Challenges, Setbacks and Opportunities: The Role of Women in Governance Amidst the Conflict in Yemen
Monitoring. Evaluation. Research.
Learning-Centered Delivery.
Rapidly Deployed Solutions in Fragile Environments
Local Knowledge. Global Insight.
Proximity is a women-owned small business that sits astride the worlds of program implementation and monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning. We deploy innovative research methods to collect data in fragile contexts where reliable information is scarce. And we leverage that data to place learning at the center of our implementation to deliver dynamic programming in complex contexts.
The Pulse of Proximity
Proximity is a two-way street: we give access to those who support, and we amplify the voices of those who are supported. We go where others won’t, and there we speak with the most vulnerable communities to understand their needs. We sit with local leaders in Syria to discuss democracy in conflict. We meet women healers in Iraq treating survivors of Islamic State brutality. We shadow teachers in Yemen to study war's effects on child development. We talk shop with small business owners in Jordan to assess the impacts and opportunities of refugees.
